The Nation — Former Ohio Congressman Rob Portman finally got around to endorsing John McCain for president today. “John McCain is a proven leader with a track record of breaking through partisan gridlock in Washington, D.C. and achieving results in the national interest,” declared Portman, who left Congress to serve as the Bush administration’s pointman on free-trade policy.
